THE BEST ROTI JOHN IN TOWN

Roti John is arguably one of my all-time favourite food whenever I went out for supper with my friends. So Which stall do you think sells the best? Most of you might consider that Roti John Barkat which located at Pantai Puteri the best but however I would reckon that Roti John Puteri Erra located at Pantai Bunga Raya food court the best I ever had.

Roti John Berkat Erra is located along Jalan Bunga Raya Pantai at Bunga Raya Food Court adjacent to the former Rex Cinema. Don’t worry; you will be able to find this stall without any difficulties as it is very visible & obvious. If you comes from Bunga Raya Road, after the traffic light go all the way straight till you come across with a food court situated on your left hand side. Look rigorously at the signboard & you shall see”The best Roti John in town” & there you go, you have reached.

Just some info regarding this Roti John Puteri Erra. It operates daily from 7pm till it sold out or latest by 11.30pm. Tuesday is their rest day. Most of their customer came for take away instead of eating there so I think that’s the reason why it always looks vacant there. I did observe that most of the customer came & buy between 5 boxes and above. As for the parking, it is quite limited as well as the land behind the former Rex cinema has been fenced up ever since last year due to some mega high rise commercial project going on. I am concerned that Bunga Raya Food court might demolish sooner or later to give way for future commercial project too. Anyway, it is a rumours.

Let’s go straight to the subject. For a half size of Roti John, It cost you only RM 2 (It was RM 1.50 few years back). Look at the photo attached below & I personally felt that half size Roti John is merely sufficient for one person. For a full size Roti John, it cost you RM 4. There is Roti John Special as well in their menu. Usually those food ended with “special” might cost you more. Yes, it is true. Roti John Special will cost you extra RM 0.50 (RM2.5 for half size & RM5 for full size) & the different between the normal Roti John is that they added extra ingredients. I ate once but not really sure what extra ingredients there added as I am not really keen on the special one as the normal one would have satisfied me though.

Compare to those Roti John out there, I found that their bread is crispier. This makes it perfect for the bread to be eaten with its main ingredients - deep fried tuna mixed with mayonnaise. Vegetables & onion were added as well to make it tasty. The taste is irresistible & that’s the reason I have been eating this Roti John for years ever since my friend first introduce me 8 years back. However, it was my personal opinion only. Some might prefer a softer bread, lesser mayonnaise, etc.

Overall, I would rate it 9.0/10 due to its taste & fast serving. You don’t have to wait long. It will be ready to serve within 1 to 5 minutes regardless those eating there or take away. Please bear in mind that usually by 10.30pm; it would have finish sold out. So you have to be fast in order not to miss the “best Roti John in town”.
